Oops... I Arted!

On this weblog I will post cartoon strips, drawings, one panel cartoons, sketches, and updates on the Lubbock comics community. I hope to get feedback, increase my artistic skills, and get 'those' ideas out of my head. Feel free to critique me.

There I sat all broken hearted,
tried to draw but only Arted.
Now I choose not to sweat it,
I can Art and not regret it.

Perversity Submission #1

No, I have not turned this into some S&M site. (Sorry to disappoint...)

I have been working on some toons to send The Perversity Weekly. Texas Tech's very own satire/parody newspaper. I'm sending an application and two cartoons submissions.

Here is the first one:

I'm fairly confident that I can get the gig, especially since it pays nothing!

Take care.

:)

More Exclamation Points Than EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I just looked at the last few posts and noticed that I've put an exclamation point at the end of every one.

I must be getting excited or something.

Comics Jam Update!

For those of you interested in the next Comics Jam:

Here is the map I promised you. I put it together myself in photoshop based on two different maps.

Congratulations Alex and Corey!

On March 12, 2005
My friends Alexandra Lea Franks Clopton and
Corey Myhro Parkinson got married.

I wasn't able to make it to the wedding, and I know It's been a little while, but I finally got their wedding present finished:

I sent them the original artwork with a nice card today. This is an actual quote from my brother Brent's wedding (On April Fools Day - not sure how long ago...). I thought, well why not a gameshow?

I wish them all the best!

Ninja Turdles are back!

David finally got back in to the swing of things on his weblog

His style is really progressing, and he is experimenting with color too. :)

The Lubbock Comics Jam is back!

For those of you who might not know, I've been involved with something called a comics jam (with Lucid Comics) for a few years. A comics jam is simply a gathering of comics/cartoon artists from around the area in which we each begin a comic page with one panel (on any subject. When we are done with the first panel we pass the page to the next available artist. They simply continue the comic (using their own ideas of how it should go). They in turn pass it on until the page (or story if one page can't hold it) is finished. The end result is often funny and usually suprising.

Well as the title suggests. We have the comics jams back up and running. The next comics jam will be held in the Texas Tech Library's Croslin Room, Tuesday June 7th at
8:00.

If you are interested in coming, or have ideas for us, just visit the UglyPuppy Studio's Website.

I'll try to get a map up for those not familiar with Tech Campus.

Hope to see a great crowd!
